Showing up isn’t only about attendance figures or state requirements. It is about making sure every child gets the chance to learn, connect, and grow, and making sure schools get the resources they need to support all students.
On “Count Day,” when districts report attendance for funding, every student who is present means more: more teachers, more programs, and more support for every learner. When families make the effort to get their child to school, they aren’t only investing in their own student, they are strengthening the entire school community.
Removing the barrier of the ride
For many families, the hardest part isn’t wanting to show up, it is the logistics of getting there. That is where shared, coordinated transportation helps. When approved families can match with trusted neighbors and organize carpools, walk pools, and bike pools, a missed ride stops being the reason a student misses a day.
Every trip coordinated is a barrier removed, and a student who makes it to class.
